Owens, West Virginia sink Louisville in OT
Feb 27, 2007 - 3:22 AM LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (Ticker) -- LaQuita Owens scored 30 points to lift West Virginia to a 76-71 Big East Conference overtime victory over No. 21 Louisville.Owens scored seven points in the extra session as the Mountaineers (20-9, 12-5 Big East) snapped the Cardinals' 21-game home winning streak.
Olayinka Sanni added 21 points and matched Owens with nine rebounds and Chakhia Cole scored 14 points for West Virginia, which erased a 30-18 halftime lead by shooting 56 percent (19-of-34) in the second half.
Angel McCoughtry scored 33 points on 12-of-19 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds for the Cardinals, who held a 43-37 edge on the glass.
Jazz Covington was also in double figures with 17 points for Louisville (24-6, 10-6).
