Paris leads Oklahoma to rout of Baylor
Mar 1, 2007 - 5:27 AM NORMAN, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Courtney Paris scored 28 points and grabbed 18 rebounds as No. 11 Oklahoma cruised to an 88-61 Big 12 Conference rout over No. 15 Baylor.Chelsi Welch added 24 points on 7-of-12 shooting for the Sooners (23-4, 13-3), who won their fifth straight game and a share of the regular-season conference title.
Amanda Thompson collected 10 points and eight rebounds and Ashley Paris added 10 rebounds for Oklahoma, which shot 39 percent (30-of-78) from the field and outrebounded Baylor, 59-43.
The Lady Bears (24-6, 11-5) trailed, 45-34, at halftime and shot a dismal 28 percent (10-of-36) after the break.
Bernice Mosby scored 15 points for Baylor, which shot 35 percent (23-of-65) and committed 20 turnovers leading to 23 points for Oklahoma.
Oklahoma grabbed 31 offensive rebounds that led to 32 second-chance points.
