Davenport leads Ohio State past Indiana

Mar 3, 2007 - 2:08 AM INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Jessica Davenport scored 30 points to lead sixth-ranked Ohio State to a 72-60 victory over Indiana to advance to the semifinals of the Big Ten tournament.

The Buckeyes (27-2) held a slim 24-22 lead with 2:39 to play in the first half before Davenport took over and scored the final seven points during a 7-0 spurt to close the half with a 31-22 advantage.

The Hoosiers (18-13) cut the lead to 62-56 on Nikki Smith's layup with 4:31 remaining, but Ohio State closed the game on a 10-4 run to put away the contest.

Star Allen netted 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Buckeyes, who shot 48 percent (26-of-54) from the field.

Kim Roberson scored 15 points and Sarah McKay added 14 for Indiana, which shot 33 percent (21-of-64), including just 6-of-18 from the arc.
