Langhorne, Coleman lead Maryland in rout over Georgia Tech
Mar 3, 2007 - 4:45 AM GREENSBORO, Maryland (Ticker) -- Crystal Langhorne scored 18 points and Marissa Coleman added 16 and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead No. 5 Maryland to a 75-59 triumph over Georgia Tech in quarterfinal action of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament.The defending national champion Terrapins (27-4) held a narrow 27-24 lead midway through the first half before proceeding on a 13-2 run. The Terrapins led, 40-26, at the half.
Maryland never trailed and continued its dominance in the second half, leading by as many as 24 points with just over four minutes remaining in the contest.
Kristi Toliver scored 12 points for the Terrapins, who shot 59 percent (29-of-49) and won the battle of the boards, 46-21.
Stephanie Higgs scored 16 points and Janie Mitchell added 14 for the Yellow Jackets (20-11), who shot 33 percent (22-of-67), including just 4-of-15 from 3-point range.
