Lawless leads Purdue to Big Ten Tournament final
Mar 5, 2007 - 1:16 AM INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (Ticker) -- Purdue moved one step closer to a Big Ten Tournament championship.Erin Lawless scored 18 points and Katie Geralds had 17 to lead the No. 14 Boilermakers past No. 23 Michigan State, 64-61, in the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament.
Purdue (27-5) will play the winner between Ohio State and Penn State in the championship game on Monday.
Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton added 12 points and 14 rebounds for the Boilermakers, who are looking to collect their sixth conference tournament championship.
Victoria Lucas-Perry scored 20 points to lead the Spartans (23-8), who held a 34-26 halftime advantage.
The Boilermakers took the lead in the second half after holding their opponent to just 32 percent (9-of-28) shooting.
