Notre Dame cruises past Rutgers
Feb 12, 2011 - 10:26 PM South Bend, IN (Sports Network) - Devereaux Peters netted 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting to pace No. 8 Notre Dame to a lopsided 71-49 win over Rutgers.Skylar Diggins had a terrific all-around game with 20 points, five assists and five boards, while Brittany Mallory chipped in 10 points and 10 helpers for the Fighting Irish (22-4, 11-1 Big East), who recorded their ninth straight victory.
Chelsey Lee scored 13 points and Monique Oliver posted 12 points and seven rebounds for Rutgers (14-10, 7-4), which had a two-game winning streak snapped.
Notre Dame led 29-25 at the break and pulled away by holding the Scarlet Knights to 31 percent shooting in the second half.
