They will host third-ranked Stanford on Sunday.
Eliza Pierre had 12 points for Cal (14-11, 6-8), which has dropped four in a row. Lindsay Sherbert and Talia Caldwell both had 10 points in the loss.
UCLA held a 29-21 lead at the half and expanded its advantage to a game-high 21 with 8:47 left in the game. UCLA shot 42.4 percent from the field, while Cal struggled, making just 31.4 percent of its shots.
