Rogowski leads DePaul in upset over Duke

Mar 25, 2014 - 1:27 AM Durham, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Megan Rogowski drained six 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 22 points, as the seventh-seeded DePaul Blue Demons pulled off an upset over the second-seeded Duke Blue Devils, 74-65, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Rogowski also made all four of her free-throw attempts for DePaul (29-6), which will play the winner of the James Madison/Texas A&M matchup in the Sweet 16. Megan Podkowa was also outstanding from beyond the arc (4-of-4) en route to 18 points, while Brittany Hrynko and Jasmine Penny scored 14 and 11, respectively.

For Duke (28-7), Elizabeth Williams tallied 12 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks, Ka'lia Johnson, Tricia Liston and Haley Peters all netted 11 and Oderah Chidom chipped in 10 points off the bench.

Duke outshot DePaul from the field in the first half, 43.5 percent to 30.3 percent, but both teams drained 10 field goals and the Blue Demons had the scoring advantage from beyond the arc (15-6) as they took a 27-24 lead into the break.

The Blue Demons never gave up their advantage in the second stanza, as they kept Duke at bay by shooting 14-of-27 from the field (.519) and 10-of-13 at the foul line (.769) over the final 20 minutes.

Duke committed 21 turnovers and shot just 2-of-6 from 3-point range. DePaul, meanwhile, connected on 14 long-range buckets.
