Hawk, Gonzaga upset Arizona State

Dec 7, 2006 - 6:52 AM SPOKANE, Washington (Ticker) -- Stephanie Hawk's double-double sparked an upset victory.

Hawk collected 20 points and 13 rebounds and Michelle Elliott added 13 points as Gonzaga posted an 81-66 win over 13th-ranked Arizona State, which lost for the first time.

Jami Bjorklund scored 12 points for the Bulldogs (6-5), who outrebounded the Sun Devils, 42-35, to overcome 23 turnovers.

Hawk shot 6-of-11 from the floor and 8-of-9 from the line, and Elliott was 6-of-13 from the field and grabbed six rebounds for Gonzaga, which shot 45 percent (28-of-62).

Emily Westerberg had 20 points and 11 rebounds for Arizona State (8-1), which shot 47 percent (35-of-74).
