Butler drops Davidson 14-7 to stay unbeaten

Oct 31, 2009 - 8:27 PM INDIANAPOLIS(AP) -- Andrew Huck threw for 136 yards and ran for 81 yards and touchdown to lead Butler over Davidson 14-7 Saturday.

The victory kept the Bulldogs unbeaten this season at 8-0 overall and 5-0 in the Pioneer Football League, while the Wildcats fell to 2-6 and 2-4.

Huck completed 14 of 26 pass attempts to six receivers, without an interception. Butler's Scott Gray carried 14 times for 117 yards, while Ryan Hitchcock logged eight carries for 58 yards and a TD.

Hitchcock scored on an 8-yard run to help put Butler ahead 7-0 in the first quarter. Davidson tied the game when Kenny Mantuo scored on a 9-yard run in the third quarter. Mantuo finished with 147 yards on 19 carries.

Huck secured the victory when he capped an 11-play, 98-yard drive with a plunge from the 1-yard line with 4:09 left.

Davidson got the ball back twice, but couldn't reach the goal line.
