Bernard scores twice as Oregon St blanks Idaho
Sep 24, 2006 - 5:58 AM CORVALLIS, Oregon (Ticker) -- Oregon State gave a rude welcome to former coach Dennis Erickson.Yvenson Bernard scored a pair of touchdowns as the Beavers blanked Idaho, 38-0.
Erickson coached Oregon State from 1999-2002, going 31-17 over that stretch, including 11-1 in 2000, when it crushed Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl. He is 1-3 in his second tour of duty at Idaho, where he went 33-15 from 1982-85.
Bernard opened the scoring on a 19-yard run just 3:26 into the contest. He added a seven-yard run eight minutes into the second half for a 24-0 cushion.
The Beavers (2-1), who were coming of a bye, open Pac-10 Conference play vs. No. 21 California next week.
