Stanback helps Washington defeat Arizona
Oct 1, 2006 - 5:34 AM TUCSON, Arizona (Ticker) -- Isaiah Stanback and Washington continue to impress in their second season under Tyrone Willingham.Stanback threw for 293 yards and two touchdowns as the Huskies posted a 21-10 Pac-10 Conference victory over Arizona.
Stanback completed 14-of-25 passes with an interception for Washington (4-1, 2-0 Pac-10), which already has doubled its overall and league victory totals from last season.
A senior, Stanback gave the Huskies the lead for good, 7-3, with a three-yard touchdown pass to Sonny Shackelford with 6:07 left in the second quarter.
Kenny James scored on a four-yard run before Stanback gave the visitors a 21-3 advantage entering the break with a 55-yard scoring strike to Quintin Daniels.
Willie Tuitama went 24-of-41 for 308 yards, a TD and an interception for Arizona (2-2, 0-2).
