Stocco, Hill lead Wisconsin rout of Indiana

Sep 30, 2006 - 8:54 PM BLOOMINGTON, Indiana (Ticker) -- John Stocco and P.J. Hill ruined Terry Hoeppner's return to the sidelines.

Stocco threw three touchdowns and Hill ran for three scores as Wisconsin manhandled Indiana, 52-17, in a Big Ten Conference contest.

Stocco completed 15-of-17 passes for 304 yards and Hill ran 23 times for 129 yards for the Badgers (4-1, 1-1 Big Ten), who scored the game's first 52 points before taking out their starters in the fourth quarter.

Hoeppner had missed the Hoosiers' past two contests, both defeats, after undergoing brain surgery.

Hill opened the scoring on a one-yard run with 4:21 to go in the first quarter before Stocco took over, throwing touchdowns of 35 yards to Travis Beckum, 15 yards to Paul Hubbard and three yards to Andy Crooks for a 28-0 advantage with 8:04 to play in the half.

Wisconsin outgained Indiana, 539-280, as it easily bounced back from a 27-13 defeat at No. 6 Michigan last week.

True freshman Kellen Lewis went 13-of-29 for 113 yards for the Hoosiers (2-3, 0-1), who received 100 rushing yards and a TD from Josiah Sears.
