Nagy to coordinate Old Dominion defense

Feb 18, 2013 - 5:36 PM Norfolk VA (Sports Network) - Old Dominion University football coach Bobby Wilder announced the promotion of Rich Nagy to defensive coordinator on Monday.

Nagy, the defensive coordinator at Western Michigan last year, was hired in December as ODU's defensive backs coach. He has 11 years of experience as a defensive coordinator, including at Maine and Murray State.

Bill Dee, previously the Monarchs' acting defensive coordinator, will stay on staff and coach the defensive line, replacing Dealton Cotton.

ODU finished with an 11-2 record and No. 6 ranking in The Sports Network FCS Top 25 last season. This year, the Monarchs will play as an FCS independent as they transition to the FBS level and Conference USA in 2014.
