Running back's career over at Georgia Southern
Jun 5, 2013 - 12:54 AM Statesboro, GA (Sports Network) - The career of oft-injured slotback Robert Brown is over at Georgia Southern, the Southern Conference announced Tuesday.In 2010, Brown became Georgia Southern's first freshman to surpass 1,000 rushing yards since 1987. The Macon, Ga., native went on to rush for 2,063 yards with 12 touchdowns in his career.
One of fourth-year coach Jeff Monken's first recruits, Brown will remain with the team and assist the program in another capacity.
Georgia Southern is playing its final season in the SoCon before rising to the FBS level, and the Sun Belt Conference, next year.
