Report: Texas makes offer to Louisville's Strong

Jan 4, 2014 - 6:14 AM Austin, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Texas has reportedly offered its open head football coaching job to current Louisville coach Charlie Strong.

According to ESPN, Strong is expected to accept the job on Saturday.

Strong has spent the past four seasons in Louisville, leading the Cardinals to a 37-15 record and bowl wins in each of the last two campaigns. Prior to taking over the Cardinals' program, Strong served as defensive coordinator under Urban Meyer at Florida from 2002-2009.

According to Sports Illustrated, Strong is expected to agree to a contract worth $25 million over five years.
