Bucknell hopes to make run at Patriot title
Apr 9, 2015 - 6:48 PM Lewisburg, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Bucknell will try to take the next step in the Patriot League standings this year after finishing second a year ago.The Bison will play five of their 11 games at home and make an Oct. 17 visit to Army as part of their non-league schedule.
Marist (Sept. 5) and Duquesne (Sept. 12) will visit Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium to open Bucknell's season. In addition, the Bison will host Patriot rivals Lehigh (Oct. 10), Georgetown (Oct. 24) and Holy Cross (Nov. 14).
Bucknell posted its highest win total since 1997 in finishing 8-3 last year, going 4-2 within the league. Head coach Joe Susan, the Patriot coach of the year, was rewarded this offseason with a three-year contract extension through the 2019 season.
