Duke All-American Cash to miss Pinstripe Bowl
Dec 16, 2015 - 6:55 PM DURHAM, N.C. (AP) Duke says All-America safety Jeremy Cash will miss the Pinstripe Bowl after having wrist surgery.Coach David Cutcliffe said Cash had surgery Wednesday on his right wrist and won't play in the Dec. 26 game against Indiana at Yankee Stadium.
Cash, the team MVP and an AP All-America selection, was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference's defensive player of the year by both the league's coaches and the voting members of the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association. He had 101 tackles, 18 tackles for losses and three forced fumbles.
Redshirt junior Corbin McCarthy figures to slide into Cash's spot in the starting lineup. McCarthy replaced Cash for the first half of the win at Wake Forest while Cash was suspended for a targeting penalty a week earlier.
