FCS contingent grows for NFLPA Collegiate Bowl

Dec 29, 2015 - 10:27 PM (STATS) - The NFLPA Collegiate Bowl has become a showcase of FCS talent after the list of participants swelled to 23 with the announcement of eight more senior standouts from the subdivision.

The fifth annual All-Star game on Jan. 23 in Carson, California, has added acceptances from Northern Iowa cornerback Makinton Dorleant, Richmond running back Jacobi Green, South Carolina State tight end Temarrick Hemingway, Liberty kicker John Lunsford, Southern Utah quarterback Ammon Olsen, and offensive linemen Lars Hanson of Sacramento State, Garrick Mayweather Jr. of Fordham and Aaron Neary of Eastern Washington.

Previous FCS players announced for the game: Florida A&M linebacker Akil Blount; Harvard tight end Ben Braunecker; Eastern Washington offensive tackle Clay DeBord; Sam Houston State punter Lachlan Edwards; Norfolk State linebacker Deon King; Idaho State defensive tackle Tyler Kuder; Western Carolina defensive tackle Helva Matungulu; and Campbell defensive tackle Greg Milhouse.

Also: William & Mary linebacker Luke Rhodes; Northwestern State quarterback Stephen Rivers; Montana State tight end Beau Sandland; Sacramento State linebacker Darnell Sankey; Incarnate Word linebacker Myke Tavarres; Hampton offensive lineman Torian White; and Liberty quarterback Josh Woodrum.

Stony Brook defensive end Victor Ochi originally committed to participating in the NFLPA game, but has chosen instead to play in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 23 in Tampa, Florida

Former NFL coaches Mike Holmgren and Mike Martz will serve as this year's head coaches.
