Jafar Williams hired as running backs coach at Rutgers
Jan 21, 2016 - 5:25 PM PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) Jafar Williams has been hired as a running backs coach at Rutgers.Coach Chris Ash announced the hiring on Thursday, completing his nine-man on-field coaching staff.
Williams spent the last three seasons in the same position at Purdue. The Philadelphia native also has coached running backs at Kent State, Northwestern, Howard, Illinois State and Moravian.
Williams was a wide receiver for Maryland from 2000-03 with 90 receptions and 1,301 receiving yards. The Terrapins earned a trip to the Orange Bowl following the 2001 season. After college, he spent time with the Washington Redskins before beginning his coaching career at Moravian.
