Boilermakers hire Darrell Funk as offensive line coach
Feb 4, 2016 - 8:42 PM WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) Purdue hired Darrell Funk as its new offensive line coach Thursday.He coached the offensive line at Akron last season and was Michigan's offensive line coach from 2011-14.
Coach Darrell Hazell said he liked Funk's experience, his fit with the rest of the coaching staff and believes that Funk will ''accelerate the growth'' of the Boilermakers' offensive line. That was one of the focal points in this year's recruiting class.
Hazell signed three new offensive linemen Thursday.
Funk has also coached at San Diego State, Ball State, Colorado State, Rhode Island, Mesa State, Northern Illinois and Muskingum in Ohio, which is Hazell's alma mater.
