LSU WRs Quinn, Spears transferring, leave football team
Feb 17, 2016 - 12:19 AM BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) LSU receivers Trey Quinn and Kevin Spears have left the football team and are in the process of transferring to other schools.LSU spokesman Michael Bonnette, who confirmed the players' departures on Tuesday, says it's not clear where the pair intend to continue their college careers.
Quinn and Spears recently completed their sophomore seasons. Quinn caught five passes for 83 yards in 2015. Spears has played on special teams.
Finding playing time would have been challenging for both players next season, with top receivers Malachi Dupre and Travin Dural returning to an often run-heavy offense.
LSU also has some highly rated recruits coming in at receiver, led by Drake Davis.
Three receivers have now left LSU this offseason. John Diarse was the first, transferring to TCU.
No one has shouted yet.
