Cal Poly to face Oregon State in 2019
Feb 17, 2016 - 7:13 PM (STATS) - Cal Poly football coach Tim Walsh says he wants to test his team as much as possible in preparing for its Big Sky Conference schedule. The Mustangs have set a tough assignment early in the 2019 season. On Wednesday, they announced a Sept. 14 game at Pac-12 member Oregon State at Reser Stadium in Corvallis.
It will be the first meeting between the two programs.
"Anytime we can schedule a game against a Pac-12 school is a great opportunity for us to showcase our program," Walsh said. "I think we have proven over the years that we can compete at that level."
Other future Cal Poly games against FBS schools include the Mustangs' 2016 season opener at Nevada and a visit to San Jose State in 2017.
Cal Poly has beaten five FBS opponents since 1980, the most recent a 24-22 victory at Wyoming in 2012.
