Arkansas visits South Carolina, looks to stay perfect in SEC

COLUMBIA, South Carolina (Ticker) - Arkansas has not looked back since dropping its season-opening contest by 36 points at home.

The 12th-ranked Razorbacks aim for an eighth straight victory Saturday when they visit Southeastern Conference foe South Carolina.

Arkansas (7-1, 4-0 SEC West) opened its campaign with a 50-14 home loss to Southern California but has not lost since.

The only unbeaten team in the rugged SEC, the Razorbacks are coming off an easy 44-10 victory over Louisiana-Monroe in Little Rock. Felix Jones and Darren McFadden each ran for more than 100 yards and a touchdown and McFadden threw for a score in the romp.

South Carolina (5-3, 3-3 East) lost at home to Tennessee last Saturday, 31-24.

The Gamecocks held a 17-14 lead entering the fourth quarter before giving up 17 straight points. Syvelle Newton passed for two touchdowns and ran for another but also tossed three interceptions in the defeat.

Arkansas is 5-2 against South Carolina under Houston Nutt but lost last year at home, 14-10.
