Miami-FSU game likely to be postponed
Sep 9, 2017 - 7:04 PM The Miami-Florida State game, set for Sept. 16 in Tallahassee, is likely to be moved to Oct. 7 because of the potential impact from Hurricane Irma, the Tallahassee Democrat reported Saturday morning.Florida State announced Saturday that its campus would remain closed through Friday.
An official announcement about the game could come as early as Sunday, the newspaper reported, adding that travel, staffing and hotel accommodations could become issues in the aftermath of the storm, which was expected to make landfall in Florida on Sunday.
The Hurricanes and Seminoles have an open date on Oct. 7, making a postponement more likely.
No. 16 Miami canceled its scheduled game at Arkansas State for this week, while 10th-ranked Florida State canceled its home game against Louisiana-Monroe.
