Criminal homicide charge against ex-Indiana player dismissed
Nov 8, 2017 - 11:06 PM MARYVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A criminal homicide charge against former Indiana football player Camion Patrick has been dismissed. Blount County (Tennessee) General Sessions Judge William Brewer dismissed the charge Tuesday after a preliminary hearing. Patrick, 23, was one of four men facing criminal homicide charges in connection with the July 25 death of Caleb Thomas Radford of Maryville, Tennessee. Police said Radford had "multiple stab wounds." Isaiah Wright, Keshawn Lonnell Hopewell and Itiq Tivone Green are still facing criminal homicide charges and will have their cases brought before a grand jury. Indiana officials had announced July 24 that Patrick had been granted a medical hardship that ended his college football career while keeping him on scholarship. When Patrick was taken into custody in September, Indiana officials announced that "he has been summarily suspended from the university." School officials didn't immediately respond Wednesday to an email asking if there was any change in Patrick's status now that the charge against him has been dismissed. Patrick hurt his anterior cruciate ligament during 2016 spring practice but returned to play in 10 of Indiana's last 11 games, though he also had a late-season shoulder injury that required surgery. Patrick caught six passes for 154 yards and a touchdown last season and also had four carries for 10 yards and a touchdown. ___ More AP college football: http://collegefootball.ap.org and https://twitter.com/AP_Top25No one has shouted yet.
