Tennessee WR Jennings dismissed from team after tirade
Nov 23, 2017 - 6:49 PM Tennessee dismissed Jauan Jennings from the team after the wide receiver ripped the coaching staff in a profanity-laced video over social media."Representing the University of Tennessee football program is a privilege," Volunteers interim coach Brady Hoke said in a statement, per the Tennessean. Hoke also said the decision to dismiss Jennings from the team was made with athletic director John Currie.
Jennings has been sidelined since dislocating his wrist in a season-opening 42-41 double-overtime win against Georgia Tech. He went to practice on Wednesday and hoped to play versus Vanderbilt (4-7, 0-7 SEC) on Saturday.
The wideout used the terms "lying," "fake" and "snake" to describe the coaches while asking Tennessee officials to "bring us a coaching staff that's honest."
"It ain't nothing to do with no players," Jennings said on Instagram. "It ain't nothing to do with no (expletive) injuries (expletive). It's straight (expletive) coaching."
Tennessee (4-7, 0-7) fired coach Butch Jones on Nov. 12. Hoke, who had served as a defensive line coach on Jones' staff, is Tennessee's interim head coach for the remainder of the season.
Jennings reeled in 40 receptions for 580 yards and seven touchdowns last season.
No one has shouted yet.
