Patrick, Oklahoma look to keep running vs. Texas Tech

Nov 7, 2006 - 9:57 PM Texas Tech (6-4) at No. 17 Oklahoma (7-2), 7:00 pm EST

NORMAN, Oklahoma (Ticker) - Oklahoma hardly has missed a beat with Allen Patrick receiving the bulk of the carries.

Patrick and the 17th-ranked Sooners aim for a fifth straight victory Saturday when they host Texas Tech in a Big 12 Conference matchup.

Thanks to Patrick, Oklahoma (7-2, 4-1 Big 12 South) has not tasted defeat since star junior Adrian Peterson was lost for the season to a broken collarbone. Also a junior, Patrick has rushed for at least 100 yards in all three starts, including a career-high 173 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries in last week's 17-16 win at Texas A&M.

The Sooners rushed for 224 yards in the triumph and picked up a first down on 4th-and-1 at their own 29 with 1:29 left to ice the contest.

The Red Raiders (6-4, 3-3 South) are coming off a 55-21 rout of Baylor in which quarterback Graham Harrell threw for 483 yards to give him 1,002 over his past two contests. He is third in the nation in passing yards per game (350.7).

Harrell threw three of his four touchdowns to Joel Filani and has eight TD tosses in his last two games.

Oklahoma has won four straight meetings here but had a five-game winning streak in the series end with a 23-21 defeat in Lubbock last year.
