Miami coach Richt apologizes for actions towards officials
Jan 1, 2018 - 7:13 PM Miami coach Mark Richt apologized Monday for arguing with officials and grabbing the arm of the head linesman during the Orange Bowl Classic."After seeing TV copy of our game, I want to apologize for my language and the putting of my hands on the official and my staff," Richt wrote on Twitter. "I did not show the proper respect to the authorities of our game."
Richt, who was angry over a perceived missed call, bumped an official during a timeout late in the second quarter of Saturday's 34-24 loss to Wisconsin.
He received an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty that gave the Badgers a first-and-goal opportunity at the 5-yard line. Wisconsin scored one play later to claim a 24-14 lead.
