CFB Note - Northwestern Thorson, Clayton
Jan 3, 2018 - 7:12 AM QB Clayton Thorson suffered a torn ACL in his right knee during the Music City Bowl on Friday night, the school announced Tuesday. Thorson, who was injured early in the second quarter of the Wildcats' 24-23 victory over Kentucky, is scheduled to undergo surgery in mid-January. An MRI exam revealed the severity of the injury to Thorson, who was hurt after catching a 24-yard pass from backup running back Jeremy Larkin. No timetable was offered for Thorson's return. A redshirt junior, Thorson guided Northwestern to a 10-3 record, including a season-ending eight-game winning streak. Three days before sustaining his injury, Thorson announced he would return for his final season of eligibility at Northwestern rather than enter the 2018 NFL Draft. No one has shouted yet.
