CFB Note - Florida State Izzo, Ryan
Jan 4, 2018 - 6:47 AM Florida State tight end Ryan Izzo will enter the 2018 NFL draft, the school announced Wednesday. Izzo reeled in 20 receptions for 317 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games this season. The redshirt junior finished his career with 53 catches for 754 yards and six scores in 37 contests with the Seminoles. "After lots of thought and careful consideration, I have decided to forgo my senior season and chase my dream of playing in the NFL," Izzo said in a statement released by the school. "I would like to thank Coach Jimbo (Fisher) and Coach (Tim) Brewster for giving me the opportunity to be a Seminole. "I would also like to thank God for all his blessings, and my family and friends for all their love and support. Lastly, thank you to Nole Nation for all of your non-stop support. We have the best fans in the country, period! Florida State gave me an amazing four years and I will forever be NoleBlooded!!!" Both Fisher and Brewster, Florida State's tight ends coach in 2017, departed for Texas A&M prior to the team's bowl game. Izzo is the third Seminoles player to declare for the NFL draft, joining defensive end Josh Sweat and safety Derwin James. Defensive tackle Demarcus Christmas announced his return to Florida State after the team's 42-13 win over Southern Miss in the Independence Bowl. - The Sports XchangeNo one has shouted yet.
