Maryland looks to keep rolling at Boston College
Nov 14, 2006 - 10:36 PM No. 21 Maryland (8-2) at No. 20 Boston College (8-2), 12:00 pm ESTCHESTNUT HILL, Massachusetts (Ticker) - No. 21 Maryland aims for a sixth straight victory Saturday when it visits No. 20 Boston College in an Atlantic Coast Conference contest.
The Terrapins (8-2, 5-1 ACC Atlantic) are tied for first place with No. 14 Wake Forest atop the division standings, one game ahead of Boston College (8-2, 4-2 Atlantic). The Demon Deacons beat the Eagles two weeks ago and visit the Terps next week.
Maryland extended its winning streak to five games with a 14-13 home win over Miami, which was playing just four days after the death of defensive tackle Bryan Pata.
Sam Hollenbach threw first-half touchdown passes of 65 and a school-record 96 yards to Darrius Heyward-Bey for the Terps, who held on with a late interception and fumble recovery.
Boston College improved to 6-0 at Alumni Stadium this season with a 28-7 victory over winless Duke last Saturday.
L.V. Whitworth and Andre Callender each ran for more than 100 yards and a touchdown for the Eagles, who collected 501 total yards.
BC improved to 2-1 all-time vs. Maryland with a 31-16 win in College Park last year. This will be the first time they are meeting here.
