Texas A&M Aggies vs. LSU Tigers Odds & Game Pick (2021)

Nov 25, 2021 - 12:19 AM

The Ed Orgeron era officially comes to an end Saturday in Baton Rouge as it has been announced this season will be the last for the charismatic head ball coach. For the visitors, Jimbo Fisher will be looking to get his Aggies to nine wins and an even higher ranking than their current #15.

Let’s take a closer look at where the value lies.

Overview

In a season in which they not only had a favorable schedule but beat then #1 Alabama in College Station, Aggies fans will long be thinking of this season of what could’ve been. Early back-to-back losses to Arkansas and Mississippi State all but sealed their fate, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t pour it on late.

Coming into this one with one of the top defenses in the country, the Aggies rank #2 in points allowed at just 14.9, and #11 in passing yards allowed at just 182.4.

The one thing that has gone write for the Tigers this season has been their pass game, as they’re averaging 260.3 yards per game though it’s been by committee. After losing Myles Brennan before the first game for the season, the Tigers have started three different QBS, most recently Max Johnson.

  • Tigers 4-1-1 ATS in L6 November games

Bottom Line

An interesting dynamic and storyline heading into this one will undoubtedly be the end of the era for  Orgeron and whether or not this team can rally behind him one final time. Anything over a touchdown and I might have bitten, but this is too short a number to lay vs. an Aggies team that still has plenty to play for.

In addition to Texas A&M being in a great position to shut down LSU’s offense, I don’t see what answer this Tigers front seven will have for the Aggie’s two-headed monster in Isiah Spiller and Devon Achane.

Pick: Aggies -6.5
