THIS STORY WILL BE UPDATED.

As Hurricane Ian hits the southwestern coast of Florida Wednesday, sports should probably be the last thing on our minds.

Nonetheless, the storm’s projected path does put it in central Florida by Wednesday night or Thursday morning, thus affecting several schedules UCF Knights sporting events.

Let’s catch you up on all of that:

UCF Football vs. SMU: Moved to Sunday at 1 p.m. ET

UCF and SMU was moved 22 hours back to Sunday at 1 p.m. ET at FBC Mortgage Stadium. The game will be televised somewhere on the ESPN family of networks, but we’re not sure where yet.

The game is officially sold out. All tickets for the originally-scheduled date will be honored, per UCF.

UCF Men’s Soccer vs. FAU: Moved to Saturday, October 1 at 6 p.m

UCF Men’s Soccer had their in-state matchup with FAU moved back 24 hours from Friday to Saturday night. FAU has only a bus trip to make from Boca so administering this one should be easy.

UCF Women’s Soccer vs. Cincinnati: Moved to Thursday, October 13 at a Time TBA

Women’s Soccer is not so lucky. Their game with Cincinnati, originally slated for Thursday night, has been moved back two weeks due to Cincinnati being a little further away than a bus trip.

The Knights’ next scheduled game is next Thursday, October 6th at Temple.

#24 UCF Volleyball vs. Wichita State: Postponed

According to UCF Volleyball’s Schedule web page, the Knights’ matchup with Wichita State, slated for Friday night, has been postponed. Neither UCF nor The American has made an official announcement about the match, however.

On Wednesday morning, head coach Todd Dagenais posted on his Twitter account that the team was “heading to Kansas to avoid the storm all together.”

UCF was scheduled to open the home portion of conference play Friday night against Wichita State before facing Tulsa on Sunday at the Venue.

The Knights are scheduled to play the return road matches at Wichita State and Tulsa in late October, so there is at least a possibility that the home and road weekends could be switched. However, there has not been any official word on that, either.

UPDATE:

On Thursday morning, the American Athletic Conference announced that the UCF Volleyball matches scheduled for this weekend will be played in Wichita, Kansas.

First, the Knights will take on Tulsa in what will now be a neutral-site match at 5 p.m. on Friday. The team will then play Wichita State at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The conference also said in its tweet that while there would be no admission for both matches, donations to the American Red Cross were encouraged.

Keep it right here as we will update you on the latest UCF schedule news as Hurricane Ian moves through Florida.
