After a tough loss against the Tigers last weekend, the Deacs have no time to recuperate, as they are in for another tough one today. Hurricane Ian has made its way up the coast, and it looks like the weather in Tallahassee this weekend should be perfect for some college football. Wake Forest has only won 3 games at Doak Campbell Stadium in the history of the program, so the Deacs have a chance to do something special today. Sitting at 0-1 in conference play already, a loss today could potentially eliminate Wake from the running for the Atlantic Division championship just 5 weeks into the season. To stop that from happening, the Deacs are going to have to find a way to slow down one of the best rushing attacks in the nation—the 3 pronged attack of Treshaun Ward, Trey Benson, and Lawrance Toafili have run the ball 118 times for 760 yards (6.4 yards per carry) and 9 touchdowns this season. The Florida State defense is only giving up 165 pass yards per game this season, so it will interesting to see if the pass heavy Wake Forest offense—the one that threw for 337 yards and 6 touchdowns against Clemson like weekend—will be able to move the ball on the FSU secondary.
