College Football Week 6 Injury Report & Early Predictions: Kentucky vs. South Carolina

Kentucky (-10.5) vs. South Carolina

Kentucky RB Chris Rodriguez returned from a four-game suspension to make his season debut in Saturday’s three-point loss at Ole Miss. Rodriguez rushed for 72 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries while adding three catches for an additional 40 yards.

Rodriguez looked like his old self in the first half, grinding out yards between the tackles and breaking tackles. In the second half, the Rebels seemed to make adjustments to devote more attention to him, and Rodriguez simultaneously started to show a little rust, gaining just 27 yards on 10 carries after halftime.

Rodriguez, who ran for 1,379 yards in 13 games last year, provides an enormous shot in the arm to a UK rushing attack that has struggled without him. But it’s clear it will take him a few weeks to get Rodriguez back into peak playing condition. Fortunately, he’s got a good matchup this weekend going against South Carolina’s feeble front-seven.
