College Football Week 8 Odds, Picks & Prediction: UNLV vs. Notre Dame

Following a 3-1 start, things were looking up for UNLV as many thought they would, against all odds, compete in the Mountain West. Since then, however, the wheels have begun to fall off, losing 7-40 and 7-42 in the time since. At the heart of their issues, QB Doug Brumfield has missed time with a concussion, one he still not 100% to come back for in this one in South Bend.

As for Notre Dame, Marcus Freeman’s first season at the helm has been a roller coaster already, as the Fighting Irish started out 0-2, just to win their next three games. The last time we saw them on the field, however, was a 14-16 home loss against rival Stanford, a game they lost outright as 16.5-point favorites.

Despite their struggles at home this season, this UNLV team offers Notre Dame a perfect opportunity to “get right” before their home stretch of the season. I think that’s exactly what we see.
