All good things must come to an end, and the same is true for college football. However, there’s still a lot to be played for on this final week of the regular season, and we’ll be backing 3 teams with postseason implications on the line. Let’s take a look at each game in greater detail.

UAB (-17.5) at Louisiana Tech

UAB is currently 5-6 with a bowl game on the line, and I expect them to come out on fire for the opportunity. Their record also doesn’t truly illustrate how good of a team they are. Coming into week 8, they were 4-2 but quickly fell to 4-5 after QB Dylan Hopkins went down with an injury against Western Kentucky. With Hopkins healthy and a great ground game (10th yds/gm, 6th yds/carry) led by the tandem of DeWayne McBride and Jermaine Brown Jr., they should run roughshod over a Bulldog defense that ranks second to last in rush defense.

TCU vs. Iowa State (u47.5)

This is a classic look-ahead spot for the Horned Frogs, with the Big XII Championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff on the line next week. For their part, the Cyclones sport a defense that is 8th in scoring defense and 12th in yds/play. Add in a banged-up Kendre Miller and receiving corps, and Sonny Dykes should try and sit on any lead he can get over a lackluster Iowa State offense.

Tennessee (-14) at Vanderbilt

Though Hendon Hooker went down with an injury, this offense is still primed to put up points. Between Tennessee’s tempo (3rd highest, snapping the ball every 20 seconds) and extra wide WR splits, it should create some mistakes and open throwing lanes for Joe Milton against a defense that ranks 128th in yds/play.

This Commodore offense relied on the rushing game last week (46 carries to 16 passing attempts). Unfortunately for them, they are up against a defensive front that has only allowed 3.3 yds/carry in games against FBS competition. Tennessee still has a New Year’s Six on the line, and I don’t expect them to come out flat despite the loss of Hooker.
