Arkansas looks to bounce back vs. Florida in SEC title game

Nov 28, 2006 - 8:53 PM No. 8 Arkansas (10-2) vs. No. 4 Florida (11-1), 6:00 pm EST

ATLANTA (Ticker) - Arkansas may need even more production from Darren McFadden and Felix Jones to beat Florida on Saturday.

The eighth-ranked Razorbacks look to rebound from a difficult loss when they take on the fourth-ranked Gators in the Southeastern Conference championship game at the Georgia Dome, with a BCS berth on the line.

Last week, Arkansas (10-2, 7-1 SEC West) had a 10-game winning streak snapped with a 31-26 home loss to then-No. 9 Louisiana State.

McFadden rushed for 182 yards and two touchdowns and Jones ran for 137 yards and a score for the Razorbacks, who already had wrapped up the SEC West title.

But Casey Dick completed just 3-of-17 passes for 29 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Dick threw four straight incompletions to end the game.

The Gators (11-1, 7-1 East) still have a shot at opposing No. 1 Ohio State in the national title game but must hope for a loss by No. 2 Southern California at UCLA and win this game - likely emphatically, in order to also pass idle No. 3 Michigan.

Florida, which comfortably won the SEC East, is coming off a 21-14 victory at rival Florida State.

Senior Chris Leak threw a pair of touchdowns, including a go-ahead 25-yarder to Dallas Baker early in the fourth quarter. True freshman receiver Percy Harvin scored on a 41-yard run before being taken off the field on a cart in the second quarter after getting kneed in the head.

The Gators are 5-1 with five straight victories over the Razorbacks, including a triumph in the 1995 SEC title game.
