College Football 2022 Bowl Game Same Game Parlays Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (12/27)

Dec 26, 2022 - 3:55 PM

With Christmas now come and gone, the 2022 college football bowl season is about to kick into high gear. With four games in total to choose from, let’s take a closer look at a few same-game parlays I have cooked up for Tuesday.

Memphis vs. Utah State

  • Leg 1: Utah State ML (+245)
  • Leg 2: Over 60.5 (-120)
  • Leg 3: High Scoring Half – 1st Half (-120)

Tuesday’s matchup in Dallas will feature two teams that are on opposite trajectories, as the Memphis Tigers have been in free fall since the beginning of October. The Tigers dropped their regular-season finale on November 26th, 31-34, continuing a trend of a defense that hasn’t been able to stop anything, with Tulsa being the only Division I team they’ve kept in relative check since October started.

For Utah State, things have gotten significantly better as the season has progressed. The Aggies also dropped their regular-season finale (at Boise State, 23-43), but they went on to win five of six games to secure their second consecutive bowl eligibility. Given that he saw this Memphis club in early 2020 while coaching Arkansas State, Utah State head coach Blake Anderson should have the advantage in this contest.

I think Utah State will win, and in the process, I anticipate a high-scoring contest. Despite their recent losing streak, the Tigers average 35 points per game, so expect one more explosive effort from them before this season wraps up. I like for a fast start from both teams to take this one over the total.

Wisconsin vs. #22 Oklahoma State

  • Leg 1: Oklahoma State +3.5 (-120)
  • Leg 2: Wisconsin Team Total – Over 24.5 (+115)

This contest has one of the lowest totals of bowl season, sitting at just 43, but I’m not convinced it hasn’t spiraled out of control. The fact that the starting quarterbacks for both clubs have entered the transfer portal is largely to blame for that dwindling total, but I think that has the unexpected result of both sides letting it rip.

Since Luke Fickell was announced as the new hire only a few weeks ago, the Badgers are adjusting to the departure of their head coach. Many players on both sides of the ball have already opted out as a result of the news as well, especially on the defensive side.

However, the Cowboys are not without their own problems, as their top tackler Mason Cobb has already left for the transfer window. The team’s leading rusher this past season with 543 yards, Dominic Richardson, has now accompanied him.

Both defenses have suffered more from the regime shift and portal transfers because both teams are transitioning. For an Okie State defense that was already among the worst in college football, this should be exceptionally disastrous.

Under Fickell’s new (from a distance) leadership, expect the Badgers to put in a risk-taking offensive game plan and surpass the low-point total in the process.

I do think, however, that the Cowboys have enough left to make this one interesting, and head coach Mike Gundy certainly won’t be laying down for it.

Parlay Odds: +900
