The Pittsburgh Panthers have been active on the recruiting trail early which has propelled the program up the recruiting rankings. After getting four commitments over the past three days, the Panthers now have a claim to the top 10 spots in both Rivals (9) and 24/7 Sports (6). It has been a big weekend for the program so let’s take a look at the players that committed over that span.

The first commitment came Saturday from Jiavani Cooley out of Erie, Pennsylvania. The 6’5, 265-pound offensive tackle is a three-star prospect and was the first commitment along the offensive line for the class of 2024.

Sunday we got another commitment signal who was later revealed to be TayShawn Banks out of Cincinnati, Ohio. The 6’0, 170-pound defensive back is another three-star prospect and is the first defensive back in the class of 2024. Banks is a contributor on special teams as well and his highlights can be viewed below.

Monday we got yet another commitment announcement. This time it came along the defensive trenches as Zachary Crothers out of Hollywood Florida became the next to announce his commitment. The 6’4, 240-pound prospect had plenty of power 5 interest despite the lack of stars. Crothers held offers from Indiana, Minnesota, and Oregon state as well as taken a visit to Florida State earlier this month and is coming off a 15-sack season.

The most recent commitment was announced on Monday and then revealed earlier today when Adham Abouraya out of Eaton, Pennsylvania joined the 2024 class. The 6’5, 280-pound offensive lineman was the second commitment along the offensive trenches. Abouraya also held offers from West Virginia, Syracuse, Maryland, and Rutgers among others.

In total now the Panthers have 10 players that have given verbal commitments for the class of 2024.
