Brady alive and well, Pats get by Bucs

Aug 17, 2013 - 3:51 AM Foxboro, MA (Sports Network) - Tom Brady looked like his old self in limited action as New England dumped Tampa Bay, 25-21, in exhibition action on Friday.

Showing no ill effects from the mild sprain of his left knee suffered earlier in the week during a scrimmage, Brady finished a sizzling 11-of-12 for 107 yards and a touchdown.

Ryan Mallett took over for Brady and tallied 137 yards and one score on 12- of-20 efficiency for the Patriots, who improved to 2-0 in the preseason.

Danny Amendola totaled a game-high 71 yards and caught Brady's TD pass on six receptions, while Zach Sudfeld added the other touchdown grab. Tim Tebow picked up 30 yards on six rushes, but completed just one of his seven pass attempts for minus-1 yard.

Mike Glennon finished 12-of-22 for 121 yards, two scores and one interception for the Buccaneers, who rallied from an 18-7 deficit but fell short.

Mike James racked up a game-best 81 yards on 15 carries, while Kevin Ogletree and David Douglas were beneficiaries of Glennon scoring passes in defeat.
