Luck dominant as Colts rout Titans

Sep 28, 2014 - 10:52 PM Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Andrew Luck threw four touchdown passes for the second straight week, leading the Indianapolis Colts to a 41-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Luck completed 29-of-41 passes for 393 yards and an interception for the Colts (2-2), who have won two straight games. Luck was also sharp in last week's 44-17 rout of the Jaguars.

Trent Richardson carried the ball 20 times for 47 yards and a score for Indianapolis, which has won nine in a row against AFC South opponents. Reggie Wayne caught seven passes for 119 yards and one touchdown, while T.Y. Hilton hauled in six passes for 105 yards.

"We're blessed with a bunch of great playmakers, guys that need the ball in their hands, and as a quarterback that's what you want," said Luck.

With Jake Locker (wrist) out, Charlie Whitehurst connected on 12-of-23 passes for 177 yards, one touchdown and an interception for the Titans (1-3), who have lost three in a row. Whitehurst made his first start since 2011.

"I feel like I could've played better for sure," said Whitehurst. "I obviously didn't play well enough for us to win the game."

Delanie Walker caught five passes for 84 yards and a score in the loss.

The Titans turned the ball over on their first possession when Kendall Wright stumbled and lost control of the football while trying to get a first down. The fumble was upheld following a review.

Indianapolis started from the Tennessee 38-yard line and scored two plays later. Hilton caught a 37-yard pass before Richardson rumbled into the end zone.

The home team followed with a perfectly executed onside kick. From there the Colts marched down the field on an 11-play, 44-yard drive that Dwayne Allen capped with a 7-yard TD catch.

The Colts defense came up big early in the second quarter when Mike Adams picked off Whitehurst and Luck led Indianapolis on a 10-play drive. Adam Vinatieri's 31-yard field goal made it 17-0 with 10:25 left in the half.

The score was 20-3 after Ryan Succop and Vinatieri exchanged field goals.

Tennessee's defense stepped up and made a play with less than a minute remaining in the first half. Wesley Woodyard picked off Luck and returned the ball seven yards to the Indianapolis 25-yard line. Three plays later, Walker caught a 7-yard TD pass to make it 20-10 at the break.

The Colts put the game away with two touchdowns in the third quarter. Wayne caught a 28-yard TD pass and Coby Fleener added a 2-yard score to make it 34-10.

Bishop Sankey scored from two yards out with 35 seconds remaining in the third quarter.

Ahmad Bradshaw caught a 15-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter.
