Bills sign K Lindell to contract extension

Dec 27, 2006 - 10:05 PM ORCHARD PARK, New York (Ticker) -- The Buffalo Bills on Wednesday signed kicker Rian Lindell to a multi-year contract extension.

Terms were not disclosed.

Lindell, 29, was one of 10 Bills eligible to become unrestricted free agents in March. The list is headlined by starting cornerback Nate Clements and middle linebacker London Fletcher-Baker.

Lindell has made 23-of-25 field-goal attempts this season, including the game-winning 42-yarder as time expired in a 27-24 victory over Jacksonville on November 26.

"It feels great because there are a lot of free agents and a lot of things they (the Bills) need to take care of," Lindell said. "To be one of the top priorities was great."

Since 2004, Lindell has converted 76-of-88 field-goal attempts.
