Dolphins sign WR Hakim, G Liwienski

Mar 22, 2007 - 9:48 PM MIAMI (Ticker) -- The Miami Dolphins on Thursday signed wide receiver Az-Zahir Hakim and guard Chris Liwienski to one-year contracts.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Hakim, who turns 30 years old in June, has 316 career receptions for 4,191 yards and 28 touchdowns. He was cut by the Detroit Lions last season and signed with the San Diego Chargers.

Hakim, who also returns punts, enjoyed his best season in 2000 when he caught 53 passes for 734 yards and four touchdowns with the St. Louis Rams.

Liwienski, 31, started three games at left guard, two at right guard and one at right tackle with the Arizona Cardinals last season. He spent the previous seven years with the Minnesota Vikings, starting 74 games.
