Bengals CB Joseph suspended one game

Oct 9, 2007 - 8:55 PM CINCINNATI (Ticker) - Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Johnathan Joseph was suspended for one game Tuesday for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Joseph will miss Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He also will be fined an additional game check.

The suspension stems from his arrest in January for possession of marijuana. After accepting a diversionary arrangement, Joseph has since complied fully with league and law-enforcement obligations in this matter, and the case has now been dismissed by Kentucky authorities.

Per NFL rules, Joseph may not attend practices this week, but will be allowed to attend meetings and to work out individually at team facilities.

Joseph, 23, was selected 24th overall in 2006 out of South Carolina.
