Texans RB Green placed on IR

Dec 7, 2007 - 10:15 PM HOUSTON (Ticker) -- The Houston Texans placed running back Ahman Green on injured reserve Friday, ending his season.

Green rushed for 260 yards and two touchdowns for this season, his first with the Texans. The veteran suffered an injury to his left knee in Week Two against Carolina and was sidelined six games, including the last three.

The 30-year-old Green, who signed with the Texans last March after nine seasons with Green Bay, has gained 8,751 yards on 1,941 carries and 56 TDs in his 10-year career.

Also an excellent receiver, Green has hauled in 364 receptions for 2,833 yards and 14 TDs.

In a corresponding roster move, Houston signed quarterback Shane Boyd to the active roster.
