Safety Eric Reid's fifth-year option picked up by 49ers
May 2, 2016 - 9:13 PM SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) Safety Eric Reid has had his fifth-year contract option exercised by the San Francisco 49ers for the 2017 season.The team announced the expected move Monday.
Reid was San Francisco's first-round draft pick selected 18th overall out of LSU in 2013.
The 24-year-old defender has played and started all but one game since joining the Niners, making 189 tackles with seven interceptions, a sack and a forced fumble.
