Titans waive Mettenberger, clearing space for 4 new signees
May 16, 2016 - 2:22 PM NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) The Tennessee Titans have waived quarterback Zach Mettenberger, making space to sign four players who earned jobs after trying out during rookie minicamp.Mettenberger, a sixth-round draft pick out of LSU in 2014, is 0-10 in his career as a starter. The Titans didn't need him after bringing in Matt Cassel to back up Marcus Mariota. They also have Alex Tanney on the roster.
The Titans on Monday also added Rutgers fullback Sam Bergen, wide receiver Ben Roberts of Montana, defensive end Mike Smith of Southern Mississippi and cornerback Bennett Okotcha of Texas-San Antonio.
They waived defensive end Iosia Iosia, tight end Kevin Greene and wide receiver Rashon Ceasar.
