NFL picks for Week 16

Dec 22, 2007 - 3:38 PM By Chris Palochko PA SportsTicker Staff Writer

Things have steadily improved over the last month. A good finish and a .500 finish will be possible.

Season to Date: 34-40-1

Best Bets: 5-10

(Home team in caps)

1. (Best Bet) SEATTLE (-11) over Baltimore - A ton of points to give up. But a cross-country trip, a rookie quarterback and an overall team that lacks heart means major trouble.

PICK: SEATTLE, 31-10

2. NEW ORLEANS (-3) over Philadelphia - Do the Eagles have another big road effort in them following last week's shocking win at Dallas? Nope.

PICK: NEW ORLEANS, 24-17

3. NEW ENGLAND (-21 1/2) over Miami - It will be a record-setting day for the Patriots.

PICK: NEW ENGLAND, 41-10

4. Cleveland (-1) over CINCINNATI - Probably a trap that I'm falling into. But ...

PICK: CLEVELAND, 24-20

5. Washington (+ 6 1/2) over MINNESOTA - Think this spread is a little too high.

PICK: MINNESOTA, 20-17

6. NY Giants (-1) over BUFFALO - If the Giants lose this game, they likely could say goodbye to the playoffs.

PICK: NY Giants, 19-17
